In Stitches!

Here is a card that I made for the Cricut Cardz TV Challenge. We were supposed to use some sort of stitching on our project. Well, I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to make a Thank You card for my mother-in-law for helping me with some sewing stuff I have been working on. I am in the process of making a baby rag quilt for my little baby girl who will be here in May and my mother-in-law is an expert in all things sewing, so I asked her for some advice and guidance with that. Also, she has been so great as to help my ward's Relief Society in using her machine to embroider the name of our ward on 22 tablecloths. One of my new cartridges that I got for Christmas is Country Life and I thought the quilt cut would be perfect for this card. I went ahead and used my sewing machine to stitch the quilt a little bit and I think it turned out pretty cute.

Two in One Day!?!?

So another one of my favorite challenge sites is Fantabulous Cricut(www.fantabulouscricut.blogspot.com). They issue a new challenge every Monday, which is great! I know I am almost out of time with this challenge, but I figured while I am at it, I might as well make my other niece a Valentine's Day card. We just needed to include a heart on our project. This particular niece is the complete opposite of her sister, and loves everything girly and cutesy, so I came up with this cute little card for her. The koala is from Create-a-Critter, as well as the hearts. I used the Cuttlebug Divine Swirls embossing folder for the mat. Hopefully she will think it is adorable!

WOW! It's 2012

So, yeah, some hiatus I've had. It's crazy how time flies. The last half of last year was pretty crazy for me, didn't spend time posting on my blog or participating in challenges. I did do some crafts here and there, making cards for family and friends, and quite a few goodie bags. I just didn't post anything on the blog. Anyway, this year I hope to be better, but no promises because I am going to have my hands full with a new baby girl come May! I have been working on a cute blanket for her arrival, and I will probably post a pic of it once it's done. Today's post has been influenced by a challenge from My Pink Stamper's Friday's blog hop (www.mypinkstamper.com). Robyn issued a challenge to create a card using the color red, a pink ribbon, and a circle, along with a cricut cut. Of course, because of Valentine's Day coming this week it seems that was also part of the inspiration. So this card I will be giving to my awesomely energetic niece who is very much a tomboy. She will appreciate the card not being so girlie and having the fun frog on the front. The frog is from the Paisley Cart, which by the way I got at Christmas along with 8 others all for $10 each - the craziest Black Friday deal ever! The circle is cut from George and I used the Floral Fantasy Cuttlebug embossing folder for the mat. It was fun to participate in this challenge, I have missed it. Hope you enjoy!
