I needed to make a card for a friend who just had a baby and a friend who has helped me out a bunch the last few months. These cards turned out great too. The images are from the Home Decor cartridge.

These are a couple of cards that I put together just with some scraps. My mom let me have her supply of paper from when she was on a scrapbooking kick. She will never scrapbook again, it's part of the OCD that runs in the fam. Anyway, I think these turned out cute too. I have already given one of them to a friend who was sick. I made her some cookies and wrote her a note. I think the tall one needs something else to finish it off, maybe a stamp!!!

This is another Birthday card I put together. It took me a while to figure out the cupcake from the Celebrations cart, but I did it and it turned out cute. I didn't really have a stamp to add to it, I think it could use one, but it still is cute.

These are the first two cards I did. They are really simple. I used my cricut for the words "faith" and "inspire". They turned out nice.

So, I have made a handful of cards and am going to upload them. I am just starting out, but some of them are really cute. I think my favorite is the Celebrate Birthday Card. It is so super cute!!!

January 2011

Wow! It's 2011 and so far RJ has had croup and I have come down with a nasty cold and feel rather fluish. At least no hospital visits so far, just an urgent care visit last week for RJ. Other than that, I am finding success with my new little hobby of crafting with the cricut. I haven't made a scrapbook page yet, but I have made a handful of cards. Scott was nice enough to let me buy a base of supplies to start up my hobby, i.e. a stamp set, ink, envelopes, paper, glue, cello bags, etc. I am having fun with it. I tried setting up RJ's room for him to play in, while I crafted, but that did not go over so well. I guess I will while he is napping and at night. Of course, there are so many cricut cartridges that I want that would help me be more creative, but I will use what I have and see what I come up with. I need to take pictures of my cards and post them on here. After seeing so many crafting blogs, I don't see why I can't start one up myself. So this may become my crafting blog. We will see.

A Year and A Half Later...

So, apparently blogging isn't my thing, or at least is hasn't been the last year and a half. I am going to try and be better this coming year. I am resolving to become more engaged in 2011. "Santa" is bringing me something that will hopefully help me with my resolution. I am quite excited about it and I feel that I am ready to enter the whole world of...do I dare say the word... crafting. Yes, I am getting a Cricut and a few cartridges for Christmas and I have no idea what awaits me. I don't want to get overwhelmed with stuff because there is so much out there, but I will start small and simple.

As for the last year and a half, lots has happened - here's a summary:

We went to DisneyLand four times
Scott had his appendix out
RJ broke his leg and had a cast for 6 weeks
I had a gall bladder attack, had it removed then developed pancreatitis and was in the hospital for a couple days
I also had to have a tube removed
So YEAH for 2010, good thing it is almost over.
