Cut It Up - Father's Day

Happy Friday!!!

Well, Summer has officially begun at our house,
and I'm trying not to dread it :(
I have started plotting and planning things to do
during the days to help keep the kids entertained,
but fear they will be doing a lot of that on their own :)

Anyway, since it's Summer, that means Father's Day is right
around the corner and I had the opportunity to choose the
challenge over at Cut It Up, so I decided on Father's Day projects,
but they must include a Tie Die Cut.

Cut It Up

Challenge #72

2 Spools of Ribbon, winner's choice

Here is my project:
I used the tie from Summer Celebrations for my card.
The paper is from the DCWV Green Stack along
with some scraps for the banners.

The stamp is from Studio G and the
Enamel Dots are from Recollections.

Super simple to put together for Father's Day!

Decorate To Celebrate #101

Happy Wednesday!!!

Hope you are enjoying your week!
It's the last week of school here and, to be honest,
I am a bit scared of my first "summer" with my 6 year old.

Again, I will survive :)

Anyway, over at Decorate To Celebrate we have another
Anything Goes Challenge starting.

Here's my project:
I decided to make a 4th of July Decor Sign.
I bought a $1 wood plaque from Wal-Mart and painted
it with some Acrylic Paint.
I used Mod Podge to adhere my flag paper,
which comes from Hobby Lobby.

The "Liberty" phrase comes from Summer Celebration.
I cut it out of some thicker blue cardstock.
I used my Xyron Sticker Machine to make the
cardstock a sticker and centered it on the plaque.

I had some arrow embellishments from CTMH
and used those for an added touch.

I hope you will join us for our challenge over at
Decorate To Celebrate!

Thanks for checkin' in!!!

BBTB2 - Let's Dance

Happy Monday!!!

I hope you are all enjoying your Memorial Day,
and are able to take a moment to remember all those
that have been lost for our freedoms.

Today over at BBTB2, it is my privilege to announce
the challenge for the week...
Let's Dance!

My 3 year old daughter is going to be starting dance lessons
next month and I am so excited for it!
So in honor of this event I thought it would be fun
to create projects that have to do with dancing.

I used Once Upon a Princess for this little ballerina.
My papers are from My Mind's Eye.
The base mat was cut from Elegant Edges.

The glitter ribbon is from CTMH.

I used a Fiskars stamp for the "Bravo" and the
tag is from Sweethearts.

I used a PKS Princess Assortment for the cute little face.

I hope that you will join us for this challenge
over at BBTB2 this week!

Thanks for checkin' in!!!

BBTB2 - Toadally Cool

Happy Monday!!!

And what a Happy Monday it is!!!
Potty Training was a success from last week
and I am so happy to be done with diapers - FOREVER!!!

Anyway, this week over at BBTB2 we have
a "Toadally Cool" challenge for you -
Use a Frog on your projects.

I pulled out my Once Upon A Princess cart again
to use this awesome frog!

My papers are from a Ki 6x6 paper pad
I picked up from Wal-Mart along with
some scraps I had.

The sentiment is from Craftin' Desert Divas
"Punny" Stamp Set.

I think this turned out super fun!

I hope you will join us over at BBTB2 this week!

Cut It Up #71 - Misty (Glimmer Mists)

Happy Friday!!!

Hope your week has been great!
I have been in the depths of potty training :(
I will survive!

Cut It Up

Today over at Cut It Up we are starting a new challenge
all about using Mist on your projects.
I have never used a glimmer mist before,
but a couple of months ago I found one
on sale at Hobby Lobby for $2
so I snagged it up to use for this challenge.

Challenge #71
Use A Mist

$20 Gift Certificate

My Project:
Okay, so as I said I have never used a mist before.
I didn't know what to expect or even what to do with it :)

The color of my mist was red,
so I was afraid it was going to look like blood spatter
(I watch too many crime shows, I guess)
So I used some red cardstock to try it out on first,
it was a mess to spray!

The mist blended into the red cardstock,
but the gold glitter/shimmer showed up really well.
So that's how I decided the color palette of my card.

I found some really pretty flowered paper
that matched the jewel tones I was going for.
It was from a 6x6 designer paper pad I picked up at Wal-Mart.

I decided a craft base card would work well,
and thought I would try to mist that cardstock, too.
It turned out fine and didn't look like blood spatter either :)
Just so you know, I did try in on white cardstock,
it was a NO GO!

So I layered the misted strips of cardstock at the bottom of the card
and cut out this beautiful branch from Art Philosophy.
I used gold shimmery cardstock and it looks fabulous!
Unfortunately, the camera can only capture so much :(

So when the card was all said and done,
I was trying to decide what sentiment to use.
Turns out this makes for a perfect sympathy card.
I know these types of cards aren't the funnest to make,
but this really felt like one to me.

The sentiment comes from Craftin' Desert Divas
"Simply Said" stamp set, which I love.

So there you have it, my first attempt at Mist.
(It might be my only attempt)
I can't wait to see what you do with this challenge,
and hopefully I will learn some tips and tricks
to working with this stuff :)

Thanks for checkin' in!!!

Decorate To Celebrate #100

Happy Wednesday!!!

Welcome to another challenge over at Decorate To Celebrate!

This week for our Anything Goes challenge,
I decided to make a sign for my son's Kinder teacher
to give to her for an end of the year gift.

I used Create A Friend for this phrase
and just cut it out of cardstock - not vinyl.

The background paper is from Hobby Lobby's
The Paper Studio.

I used Mod Podge to adhere and seal it.

Here is a side view so you can see the thickness
of the wood that was used.
I painted it with black acrylic paint.

I hope you will join us for our challenge this week!

Thanks for checkin' in!!!

BBTB2 - Tea Time

Happy Monday!!!

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend
with Mother's Day celebrations!

My birthday was yesterday as well as Mother's Day
and it was a fabulous day with family and friends!
Except for the fact that my hair may or may not have caught on fire
as I was leaning over the bonfire illuminating from the cake :)

Bitten by the Bug 2

This week over at BBTB2, we have a super fun challenge
for you - Tea Time!

We want to see tea cups, tea pots, or anything to
do with tea time :)

I decided to use Love You A Latte for this awesome tea cup!

I have been trying to use up my scrap stash,
which is HUGE, before I start using anything "new",
so I don't know exactly where my paper is from, sorry!

I also used Elegant Edges for my mat.
I rounded the corners of my card with my Large Corner Rounder
from Hobby Lobby.

The tea cup is popped up with some foam tape.
I used some Rhinestones from Darice (JoAnn's)
to top off the card.

My sentiment is from TPC Latte Stamp Set.

I hope you will join us for this week's challenge!!!
