Harvest

Cricut, Country Life, Harvest Card, Elegant Edges

Thanks to CardzTV and HIMCR I have created another fall project! They have both issued challenges to Celebrate the Harvest and use Earthy Greens, Reds, and Yellows, respectively.  Perfect for Fall! I pulled out my Country Life cartridge which I haven't used in a while to cut out the fun corn and "HARVEST", but I didn't use the microscopic corn kernels that a couple of the layers call for, instead I whipped out my Sharpies and dotted where the paper cuts should have gone.  I also used Elegant Edges for the mat the corn cobs are on. I popped the corn up on some foam tape and tied some jute twine around them and frayed it a bit.  My pattern paper comes from an Autumn "Scrapbooking" pack that I got from my SIL, so I'm not sure where she bought it, but it was $1 for a pack of 12 12x12 sheets (as per the packaging).  Anyway, I think this card turned out festive enough for the season!

Back to School to Shape It Up...

Cricut, Wrap It Up, Shape Cards, Back to School

So here is another fun shape card from Wrap It Up, and yes, it is another back to school project! But this time I wanted to make a project for someone a little more mature and not in elementary school per se. So this card could be given to a high schooler or even someone going to college. I really like the muted colors of this card and the books shape is just fun. I cut this card at 5 1/2 inches and instead of using the layer cut for the card, I cut the layers out for the actual image, not the card function key. I used the same size and it cut the perfect size to match. Hopefully that makes sense. I used Plantin Schoolbook for the letters of the subjects and the little apples on the inside. I just cut some white card stock for the mats inside and used my new pair of Paper Studio Wavy Edge "Cloud" scissors from Hobby Lobby that I picked up for a buck! I'm going to be entering this card into BBTB2's challenge of shaped cards and Exploring Cricut's challenge of back to school. Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at my project!

Autumn

Cricut, Autumn Card, Create-A-Critter, Action Wobbles,

I was so excited to put this card together, for a couple reasons.  I was able to use some new paper that I LOVE and I used an Action Wobble for the FIRST TIME EVER! How much fun are they?!?!? I ordered some amazing paper (Doodlebug Happy Harvest) from The Scrapbooking Queen over at Facebook and when my order came, there were two Action Wobbles! I was so surprised and so excited to be able to finally use one and see what all the fuss was about, and I am now addicted to them and will be ordering some soon.  My card came together by following the sketch from An Inky Situation's challenge for the week and Paper Playtime's challenge of using 3 pattern papers.  I will also be entering this card over at My Creative Time for the fall color challenge.  I used Create-A-Critter for the little squirrel and the acorns in the corners, the small leaves are from a Recollection's punch and my "AUTUMN" sticker is from The Paper Studio's Harvest Time Cardstock Stickers.  I used some We R Memory Keepers Baker's Twine and popped up the corner acorns and my wood grain paper mat with some foam tape.  I love Fall and am so excited to start creating more cards for the season!

Cut It Up Challenge #27 Labor Day

I am so excited to be posting my first project as a DT member at Cut It Up Challenges! The challenge for the next two weeks is Labor Day - Celebrating Pregnancy or New Baby. My card is very simple, but I think it turned out really cute. I used New Arrival for the cute baby girl outfit and the Swiss Dots embossing folder to give it some texture. I rounded my corners of my card and mat and used my Fiskars Sea Pearls corner punch for the patterned paper corners. I also ran my green mat through the Swiss Dots folder. I popped up the patterned paper and outfit with foam tape, as well as my sentiment that came from TPC Studio's Beautiful Baby Girl stamp set. The inside of my card has the same patterned paper as the front with a border created with Spellbinders Edgeabilities Classic Scallop. My ribbon is from American Crafts and the sentiment is from the same TPC set. I think this would be such a cute baby announcement to send to family and friends. Hope you like and I do have a video showing how it all came together. Thanks so much for checking out my card, and be sure to check out the other DT's projects!  This challenge is sponsored by Too Cute by Jessica and a $20 gift certificate is up for grabs, so get your project linked up for your chance to win!!!

I will also be entering this into Craftin' Desert Divas Baby Challenge and HIMCR Anything Goes Challenge.

FCCB Challenge #176 - Name That Tune

Cricut, Lyrical Letters, Altered Notebook

HAPPY LABOR DAY!!!  Hope everyone has had an amazing weekend and holiday! So maybe you can take this day to get in your craft rooms and make something musical! Musical? Yes, musical.  This week over at FCCB we are having a challenge that's all about music - "Name That Tune" is our challenge for you.  And I can't wait to see what you "drum" up!  I was being totally selfish with my project this week and made myself a piano teacher notebook by altering a steno book.  I LOVE IT!!!  I used Lyrical Letters for the "Just A Note" and all the little notes.  Did you know about all the hidden gems on this cartridge towards the end of the handbook? I didn't and had to gush over all of them in my video (it will be uploaded later today).  My paper is from My Mind's Eye Lost & Found and I just tied some simple ribbon up at the top.  I am also going to be linking this up over at Cut It Up for their challenge to alter a notebook - it's so much fun to do, if you never have!  So make sure you sneak away to your craft room this week and link up your musical themed projects.

AND REMEMBER - FCCB's Vinyl Education Week is only a week away, so if you can, get your vinyl ordered from Cricket Vinyl Supplies so you can participate with us all next week!  AND SPREAD THE WORD - If we get 100 participants in NEXT WEEK's Vinyl Challenge, there will be a Cricut Expression giveaway!!!

I am also entering this project into Cut It Up's Challenge of an Altered Notebook.  You should go check out the awesome projects the DT has come up with over there - incredible!
