BBTB2 - It's Snowy and Cold

Happy Monday!!!

Today over at BBTB2 a new challenge has started
all about winter and being snowy and cold.

I know everyone on the East is experiencing some
crazy snow, but I am in Utah and we have nada!

We are in the upper 40's and sun - CRAZY!!!

Anyway, if we did have snow, my kids would be
outside building snowmen and snow forts
so my card is in hope that we have at least ONE
Snow Day...

I used these two cuts from Simply Charmed.
My paper is from American Crafts and I combined
two stamp sentiments from CardzTV and Craftin' Desert Divas.

The cute sparkly rhinestones are from Michael's.

I hope you will join us over at BBTB2 this week!

Thanks for checkin' in!!!

The sentiment is from Joy's Life Halloween Puns.

I really like the color scheme on this one :)

I hope you will join us over at BBTB2

BBTB2 - A Little Birdie Told Me

Happy Monday!!!

How was your weekend?

Hopefully you are rested and ready
for another challenge over at
BBTB2!!!

Spring is here and the Birds are a-Chirpin' :)

This week's theme is to use a bird on your
cards or projects.

Simply Charmed was one of my first cartridges,
and I love this cute bird image from it!

I cut it out at 3 1/2" along with the shadow.
My b/g paper is from SEI and
the border paper is from DCWV.

The sentiment is from Studio G,
the glitter gems are from Michael's, and
I popped the image up on some foam tape.

I'm all about easy peasy lately...
half my craft room is packed away awaiting
our move!

Happy Friday!!!

What a week! How's yours been?

Well, in honor of April Fool's Day today
Cut It Up wants to see funny projects
for the new challenge:
Cut It Up

Include a Joke or Riddle

Sponsor:
$20 Gift Certificate

My Project:

So I have to admit this card is not new,
I made it 3 years ago, but it is perfect for April Fool's
AND it is one of my most favorite cards I have made :)

So my card isn't necessarily a "Joke" or "Riddle",
but it is an unexpected answer from the old adage of
"when life gives you lemons"

But it is definitely my Motto...
Drum Roll Please.....

Ha, bet you didn't see that comin' ;)
LOVE IT!!!

Anyway, I used Simply Charmed for the lemon/limes.
I also used Just Because Cards for the glass image;
I used vellum to create a shinier effect.
The b/g papers are from Echo Park and DCWV.
I inked up the edges with some Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink
and used ribbon from American Crafts.
I printed the phrases out from my computer.

If you love Diet Coke as much as I do
and haven't tried limes with it...
I highly recommend it,
I has made my life much happier :)

Thanks for checkin' in!!!

BBTB2 - Keepin' Cool

Happy Monday!

How is your January going? Cold? Mine too :)

Well, today over at BBTB2 we have another
appropriate Winter challenge,
but this week we want to see all those adorable
Penguin cuts that Cricut has created.

Simply Charmed has some of the cutest cuts
that I am rediscovering :)
This penguin is one of them,
there is even a girl version with a bow on her head!
SO CUTE!!!

Anyway, I decided to use the boy and cut his bow-tie out of
some blue glitter paper, which the pic doesn't quite depict.
And to make this little guy even cuter,
I put him on an Action Wobble :)

My paper comes from American Crafts, as well as the ribbon.
My sentiment comes from Craftin' Desert Divas.

I hope you will join us over at BBTB2 this week!

Thanks for checkin' in!!!

Happy Monday!!!

Can you believe Christmas is THIS WEEK?!?!?!

Craziness!!!

In honor of Santa, BBTB2 has decided
to dedicate this week's challenge to him!
Use any Cricut Santa cut on your projects :)

Simply Charmed was one of my first cartridges,
but I have never used the Santa from it.
He's super fun and cute :)

My paper is from Doodlebug Designs
and my twine is from American Crafts.
The sentiment is from a TPC Christmas stamp set.

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas week!

Thanks for checkin' in!!!

BBTB2 - It's Halloween Time!

Happy Monday!

Today over at BBTB2 we have
a Halloween Themed challenge.
But there have been some changes over at BBTB2
where we are now an "inspiration only" blog.
You don't need to link up your projects :)

I decided to use the cute ghost from Simply Charmed
and the awesome bat from Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2.

The paper was all in my stash but I am sure it is from
the Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby).

I used a fun glitter dot in the corner for added bling :)

The sentiment is from Joy's Life "Halloween Puns"
and of course I used some Peachy Keen Face Stamps
for my two "fiends".

Thanks for checkin' in!!!

Decorate To Celebrate #87 - Too Cute To Spook!

Happy Wednesday!!!

Only 2 more days 'til Halloween!!!

Do you have any parties in store?
I have 2 that I am in charge of this year!
One for my son's Kindergarten class and one for
just my extended family at my house!
EEEK!!!
I've been busy!

Luckily, over at Decorate To Celebrate we are starting another
2 week Anything Goes Challenge that helped me get crackin' on
a project for one of the parties!
Hopefully you will be able to join us and show off
some of the fun projects you have been working on!

So here are the little party favor gift bags
I am putting together for all the kids in my son's class.
I wanted to keep it SUPER simple because I am making 30.
There are only 24 in the class, but I always want to make extra
just in case :)

The tag is cut from TBB&M and the ghost is from
Simply Charmed.

I used a PKS Everyday Face stamp for this cutie pie of a ghost.

The "Too Cute to Spook" sentiment comes from
Joy's Life Halloween Pun set.

The ribbon is from Michael's.

Here is a close up of the tag:

I can't help but think of all these tags getting ripped off
and thrown away, so I always go for
Simple and Cheap :)

The bag is full of a little box of tattoos I found at Wal-Mart,
a Glow Stick, two Halloween erasers, and two Dum Dum Suckers.

Hope the kids will like them!

Talk about inspiration!

I used Create A Critter 2 for this card as well.
The Haunted House and Skulls both come from this cart!
I did run the moon section from the cut
through Divine Swirls Cuttlebug Folder
and inked everything up really good with Slate Ink from CTMH.
The AWESOME spider web cut is from the Edge to Edge cartridge.
The b/g mat paper is from Basic Grey's "Fact" paper pack

I added some black Enamel Dots from Recollections

BBTB2 - Turkey Challenge

So here is my card that I put together for our BBTB2 Turkey Challenge going on this week.  I've done a few cards with a turkey, but not one with a "cooked" turkey, so that is what I decided to do.  I have a video to show how it all came together, but I did use the Simply Charmed cart for the image, and the Art Philosophy cart for the card shape and mats.  I have also linked this card up over at Die Cuttin' Divas challenge for the week and the Royal Challenge over at The Scrapbooking Queen.  Thanks for checkin' in!!!

Don't you love when you look through cartridges that you have had for a LONG time and you find new cuts that you either haven't noticed yet or just haven't gotten around to using? Well, that's what happened to me this go around.  I was looking for a fun Thanksgiving cut to use and this little turkey from Simply Charmed just jumped out at me and said "you've never even noticed me".  Well, I've noticed him now and I think he is the cutest little turkey ever!  I cut him out at 2 3/4" and embossed his "feathers" with Swiss Dots.  All my paper is from Doodlebug Designs "Happy Harvest" and my stamps are from "Happy Days" from CardzTV and "Life Is Good" from My Creative Time.  I do have a video to show you how it all came together, hope you'll check it out!  Please join us over at Cut It Up Challenges for our Thanksgiving challenge, I would love to see what you come up with!!! I am also going to be linking this up over at Die Cuttin' Divas, Craftin' Desert Divas, CardzTV, 2 Creative Chicks, My Creative Time, and Little Scrap Pieces challenges.

Pick of the Patch

Cricut, Simply Charmed, Peachy Keen Stamps,

Here is my first card for the Peachy Keen Stamps challenge! I don't know why I haven't entered one of their challenges until now, but better late than never, right? Anyway, they have a sketch challenge this week and I wanted to make another Fall card using the pumpkin trio from Simply Charmed. I cut them out at 2" and used the PKS Everyday Character Face Assortment. I did color in the eyes with a white gel pen for extra character.  My papers come from Doodlebug Designs "Happy Harvest" and a couple DCWV stacks - you'll never guess which ones so watch the video to find out :) I also used George for a few of the cuts.  I printed on my computer the festive sentiments.  I had fun making this card and using my PKS's. Thanks for checking in!!!

"Boo"quet

Simply Charmed, Create-A-Critter 2, Halloween Home Decor

I had another awesome opportunity to make a fun Halloween decoration.  This time it is because of the AMAZING linking party going on over at Craftin' Desert Divas!!!  I decided that my front entry needed a little something more Halloweenish so I took my vase that normally holds silk flowers and turned it into a "Boo"quet!  I used Simply Charmed to cut out the ghosts at 9 1/2", 8 1/2 " (on flip), and 7 1/2".  I used Create-A-Critter 2 for the bats - 2 cut @ 4 1/4", one at 4", and one at 3 3/4".  The "Boo" is also from Create-A-Critter 2 and I cut that out at 4 1/2".  I painted dowels from Home Depot with black acrylic paint and I just had some purple and white tule in my stash that I was able to use for the bow.  I think it turned out super cute - super simple - yet super cute!!!  So come on by and link up your Halloween projects over at Craftin' Desert Divas - would love to see what you come up with!!!

Trick or Treat

Cricut, Simply Charmed, Lyrical Letters, Halloween Decor

I am excited to have some Halloween Decor (finally) and I have Decorate to Celebrate to thank!!!  The challenge they have going on is to create a decoration or favor for a Halloween Party.  I host a family party at my house each year and I get to show off this cute Trick or Treat sign I made!  The base is chip board and I attached them together by using a hole punch and tying ribbon through them.  I used Simply Charmed for all my images, Lyrical Letters "Jack Sprat" font for my letters, and my paper and ribbon is from The Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby).  I will also be linking up over at Little Scrap Pieces for the Fun Linky Friday.

Here are some close up looks at my sign:

FCCB Challenge #180 - Fall Is In The Air

This week over at FCCB we have an awesome challenge all about Fall!!!  We want to see your projects that have to do with "Fall is in the Air".  I don't know about you, but when October hits, I get so antsy to do a TON of projects for the rest of the year for fall and all the holidays.  For this challenge I wanted to do something a little different and decided to try out a Double Side Step card.  I looked on YouTube for a tutorial and found a bunch! I just picked one and gave it a go.  I knew I wanted to use the cute scarecrows from Simply Charmed and use my Peachy Keen Stamps for their faces, but that was about it.  Then I remembered on "Just Because" Cards there is a corn stalk image and it all came together!  So my scarecrows are cut at 4", I used Everyday Character Faces from PKS to make the cute faces, some flat back smooth pearls for their overall buttons, and I found some buttons in my stash for their hats.  The back row of corn stalks are cut at 7" and the rest of them are cut at 7 1/2".  I ran the yellow corn through the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder and cut some yellow grass from Plantin Schoolbook at 3/4 inch.  The "happy fall" phrase is also from Simply Charmed.  My patterned paper is from All Seasons II 12x12 pack from Hobby Lobby.  I think it turned out pretty cute and it works great as a home decor piece too!  I hope you are able to join us this week at FCCB and link up your projects!!!

Here are the dimensions for the Double Side Step: Paper 7 1/2 x 8 1/2; With the 7 1/2" side at the top of your cutting board, set paper at the 2" mark then cut between 2 1/8" and 7 1/2".  Flip paper over and do the same thing.  Then score between cut lines at 2 1/8", 5 3/8", and 7 1/2".  Score the length of the card at 4 1/4".  I hope that makes sense!!!

FCCB Challenge #175 - Heat Wave

This week we are celebrating the record high temps we've all been having this summer over at FCCB. "Heat Wave" is the challenge this week and I don't know about you, but I'm ready for fall! It really has been a HOT summer. So please get out your Cricuts and enjoy this last summer challenge with us! My card was made using the Simply Charmed cartridge and some awesome paper from Blossoms and Butterflies DCWV pack. It's a very simple card, but certainly conveys the heat wave this year. How hot does it have to be for the sun to be wearing sunglasses? That's too hot to handle! I printed the sentiment from my computer and I stole the winter/Christmas saying, "Baby, it's cold outside" and flipped it to say, "Baby, it's HOT outside." What else would this sun be saying?  So please head on over take a look at the awesome design teams' projects And link yours up!  I've got another video for you to take a look at how this one came together. Enjoy!

Happy Days!

Cricut, Simply Charmed, We R Memory Keepers, CardzTV Stamps, Peachy Keen Stamps

Welcome to another FABULOUS week over at FCCB!  This week we are challenging you to create a "Cool Treat" project.  Summer is the perfect time for popsicles and ice cream, right?  And with school right around the corner, we need to soak in as much of summer that's left!  My card is a 5x5 this week and my base card is a fun hot pink.  I have an aqua colored mat and some FUN glitter paper alongside super cute cool treat pattern paper (from Recollections All Seasons pack).  I used some We R Memory Keepers baker's twine and of course a PKS for the cute face.  I did color the eyes with a white gel pen and used some ColorBox Chalk Ink for the rosy cheeks.  My Happy Days! sentiment stamp comes from CardzTV "Happy Days" stamp set that I was lucky enough to win after a challenge with Mary.  The popsicle comes from Simply Charmed and is popped up on two thicknesses of foam tape.

Here is a better shot of how fun and pretty the yellow glitter paper is - I LOVE IT! I am super happy with how this card turned out, and I have a video for you to see how it all came together, hope you check it out!

FCCB Challenge #171 - Shape Card

OH MY GOODNESS! This card drove me CRAZY!!! What a challenge it was for me, but I am so glad that I stuck with it and finished it. Don't get me wrong, I am super excited that FCCB has this challenge to create a shape card, I had never done one before, so I am happy that I finally did, but WOW! What a learning experience it was for me. I used Wrap It Up for the fun school house card, Designer's Calendar for the "Back 2 School" phrase, and Simply Charmed for the paper and pencil. The pattern paper all comes from the DCWV Grade School pack. I did some free hand cutting on the inside mats and tried faux stitching for the first time ever. My video goes into more detail of how this all came together. Honestly, I am not in love with this card, but it works. When I showed it to my husband he said, "What happened?" Mainly because this card is so far from my regular style. But that's okay, it is always good to step outside of your comfort zone, figure things out, experiment and learn - trial and error, right? My 4 year old son is excited to give this to his preschool teacher next month and that's what matters. I hope you will join us this week over at FCCB for our Shape Card challenge, I am excited to see your projects and anxious to learn more of the secrets behind the shape card feature!!!  I will also be entering this card in CardzTV challenge they have going on this week.
