BBTB2 - Nuts About You

Happy Monday!!!

Bitten by the Bug 2

Welcome to another challenge over at BBTB2!!!

This week our challenge is themed
"Nuts About You"

So create a card using squirrels and nuts
and all those punny sentiments you have
lying around!!!

I created this card using scraps I found in my stash,
I wanted to see what I could come up with mixing and matching
papers from various paper packs.
So I had fun creating this sketch!

My image is from Stretch Your Imagination
and I cut the silhouette feature, the blackout feature,
and the shadow feature all at 3 1/2".

The acorns come from Art Philosophy
and I cut them at 1", 3/4", and 1/2".

I love this brown ric-rac ribbon from American Crafts
and must find more of it!

My sentiment comes from Craftin' Desert Divas
Punny Stamp Set.
The flat back pearls are from Recollections.

I did do some inking with Color Box Chalk Ink and
Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.
The squirrel is popped up on some foam tape too.

I hope that you will join us over at BBTB2 for
our "Nutty" challenge and can't wait to see what you come up with!

Thanks for checkin' in!!!

Cut It Up #48 - Twilight

Cut It Up

Challenge #48 - Twilight

Sponsor:
$10 Gift Cert

My Project:
Welcome to another challenge over at Cut It Up!!!

My amazing DT sister Katie has chosen the theme of
- Twilight -
and this was a challenge for me!!!

So what I decided to do was google the words
"twilight colors" to see what would come up
and THANKFULLY no pictures of the movie/book came up :)
Seriously not a fan!

Anyway, I derived a color palette from the beautiful pictures
that were shown and decided to use a few of those colors for my card.

Dark Navy, Indigo, Purple, Gold and Orange.

I found some pattern papers that matched these colors
that I thought went well together and came up
with a sympathy card.

The beautiful flower comes from Stretch Your Imagination.
The glossy paper I cut it out of is from a
Shimmer Mat stack from DCWV.
I tried to get a couple different shots to show off
just how pretty that paper is...

The b/g paper comes from My Mind's Eye Indie Chic 6x6 pad
and the two front mats come from American Crafts
Amy Tangerine 6x6 pad.

The sentiment comes from Craftin' Desert Divas
Simply Said stamp set
and the pearls are from Recollections.

I really like how this card turned out even if
this was one of the more difficult challenges :)

I hope that you will join us over at Cut It Up,
I am anxious to see everyone's take on this one!

Thanks for checkin' in!!!

Cut It Up Challenge #45 - National Bike Month

Cut It Up
Challenge #45
National Bike Month

Sponsors:
Sample of Papers

$10 Gift Card

My Project:
So, there's a National Bike Month, huh?
Just Kidding!

I really didn't know this, but how fun is that?!?!
Honestly though, I don't know when the last time I was on a bike or
if I could even remember how to ride one :)
But I guess if what they say is true,
once you learn how you never forget
I shouldn't have a problem - if I even had a bike to try it!
Oh well, at least it gives us a great excuse to create
some super fun projects with a bike theme :)

So for my project I pulled out the Stretch Your Imagination
cart and cut out the funnest little bike, basket and flower!
LOVE this cut!!!

I used paper from Prima Marketing's Doodle Deux 6x6 pack
I picked up at Hobby Lobby.
I inked around the edges with Tim Holtz Tea Dyed Distress Ink
and my ric-rac ribbon is from American Crafts.
The sentiment comes from My Creative Time's Life is Good stamp set.
I broke down and finally bought some enamel dots from Michael's
and I am kind of obsessed with these now :)
LOVE them!!!

I hope you will join us for this super fun challenge over at Cut It Up
and be sure to check out all the DT's projects - they are all fabulous!!!

I am also going to entering this into My Craft Spot's Ink Challenge.

Thanks for checkin' in!!!

Decorate To Celebrate - Easter Part 2

Happy Wednesday!
Today over at Decorate To Celebrate we have
another challenge for you
- Easter Part 2 -

I really do LOVE Easter and I always love adding
to my decor collection for this holiday!

One of my favorite decor projects is to take a
4x4 ceramic tile from Home Depot
and decorate it up with paper and phrases and fun cuts!
For this tile, the paper (from The Paper Studio) had the perfect phrase,
so I just cut the cute little bunny and bird from
Stretch Your Imagination and added them to it.

I used Modge Podge to glue the paper to the tile,
then I popped up the cuts with some foam tape.
I tied a bow out of some tulle and hot glued it to the top,
as well as the tulle on the back to create the "hanger".

Doesn't get easier than that :)

Be sure to join us for this second part to our Easter Challenge
and check out the design team projects -
they will for sure inspire you to create something fabulous!
As always, you can link up a Birthday project.

Thanks for checkin' in!

Cut It Up Challenges #39 - Winter Fun (Blue & White)

Cut It Up

Winter Fun (Blue & White)

Sponsors:
$10 Gift Card

Stamp Set

My Project:

I am loving the Olympics!!! So in honor of them AND how completely inspired I was watching Noelle Pikus-Pace win the Silver Medal in the Skeleton event I created this card.  I may even send this card to her, she only lives about 10 minutes away from me and we probably shop at the same grocery store, but I've never met her.  She was just so inspiring, her story and her attitude, just everything about her inspired me, and this is what came of it.

I cut the sled from Stretch Your Imagination at 2" and popped it up on some foam tape.  The blue glitter paper I used for the snow is from Colorbok from Wal-Mart.  The blue and silver glitter polka-dot paper was just in my stash - not sure where it came from :)  I rounded the corners of the background mat with my large corner rounder from Hobby Lobby.  Then I used Art Philosophy for the snow swirl behind the sled (cut at 1") and the tag (cut at 3 1/4").  The stamp on the tag is from the True to Life Everyday Life Stamp set that is featured in the new Spring/Summer Close To My Heart catalog on page 20.  This stamp set coordinates with cuts featured in Art Philosophy.

After watching Noelle win Silver I think the sentiment "First Class Fun" describes her and her victory perfectly!

I hope you are able to join us over at Cut It Up for our Winter Fun Challenge to use Blue and White on your projects...and be sure to check out all the Design Team's projects - as always - AMAZING!!!

Thanks for checkin' in!!!

And if you are interested in purchasing the CTMH Art Philosophy Bundle or any other CTMH products, you can order them from me HERE!

FCCB Challenge #184 - Signs of Fall

Cricut, Stretch Your Imagination, Elegant Edges,

Welcome to another FABULOUS week over at FCCB!!! We are anxious to see your projects for our new challenge "Signs of Fall".  One of my favorite things about fall is watching the leaves change colors and start falling from the trees.  I love leaf piles and how beautiful they can be.  So I decided to create a card using the tree from Stretch Your Imagination - it's a perfect image of one of my favorite signs of fall.  I used Elegant Edges for the mat and popped both the tree and mat up on foam tape.  My tag is cut from Art Philosophy and my gems are from Freckled Fawn.  All my pattern paper comes from Doodlebug Designs "Happy Harvest".  My card is a portrait style and opens from the bottom.  I cut an 8 1/2" x 11" piece of cardstock longways at 4 1/4", then folded it in half - still and A2 sized card.  I hope that you are able to join us this week for our challenge.  I am also going to link this up over at Craftin' Desert Divas for the Anything Goes linky party.  Thanks for checking in!!!

Bitten By The Bug 2 - Halloween Challenge

I may or may not be burned out with Halloween, and it's not even here yet...Uh Oh!  Just kidding!!!  And as I am finding out with my little boy getting older, Halloween isn't just one day - it's basically Halloween WEEK!!!  And it's no different over at BBTB2!!!  We are celebrating all things Halloween this week and want to see all your fabulous projects that use our favorite machine - The Cricut!!!  Well, it's my favorite, anyway :)  For my project I pulled out my Stretch Your Imagination cart and cut this fun little spider (who I think is tap dancing).  I also wanted to play around a little with him because he seems like he should be free to move around on the card.  I didn't want to use an Action Wobble, don't get me wrong, I LOVE Action Wobbles, but I wanted something with more freedom.  So he's a spider, right? and spiders have webs, right? So why not dangle him from a web string?  And that's just what I did.  I attached him to some embroidery floss and let him go!  You can't get the full effect from the pics, but hopefully I have captured enough for you to get the idea.  My paper comes from an All Seasons pack and I did use some glitter paper for his top hat, "jacket", and tap shoes.  The mat that he is on was cut from Elegant Edges along with a shadow.  The stamps are from a couple of Studio G $1 sets.  I think it turned out pretty cute for ALMOST being burned out with Halloween projects for the year :)  I will also be linking this up at the Halloween party going on over at Cardz TV.  I hope that you will show off your tricks or treats with us at BBTB2 and that you have a FANTASTIC Halloween WEEK!!!

School Days

Cricut, Stretch Your Imagination, Cricut Classic Font, School Decor
I am SOOOO excited that my son is starting Preschool this year, I am sure I am more excited than he is.  He will be 5 in December, and it has been a LONG 4 1/2 years with him home!  Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my little guy, but he has been a handful from Day 1.  I am also excited that I can start decorating for Back To School in my house, where all the other years, it seemed silly because I didn't have any kids in school.  So here is my first "School Days" home decor project.  I really like how it turned out! I used Stretch Your Imagination for the bus and Cricut Classic Font for the letters.  The wood plaque/base was from Wal-Mart for $1 and I painted it with black acrylic paint.  I used Elmer's Paper Craft Glue to adhere my yellow cardstock mat and DCWV Grade School pattern paper down. The letters were just put together with a Zig Glue Pen, the paper for the letters was also from DCWV Grade School pack.  I used some foam tape to pop up the bus to give a more 3-D look.  I am happy with how it turned out!  I will be entering this project in a few challenges this week; Craftin' Desert Divas (Back To School), BBTB2 (School Bus), Paper Playtime (Use Lots of Yellow).

Back to Summer in July!

Cricut Stretch Your Imagination Cartridge Ice Cream Cone Card
Now back to a Summer in July card!  BBTB2 is thinking more along my lines of summer - ICE CREAM! And it is National Ice Cream Month, so why not?!?!  I am seriously thinking of ordering some Blue Bell Ice Cream from Texas and having it shipped up to me...THE BEST ICE CREAM IN THE WORLD!!!  I've done it before, I can certainly do it again :)  Anyway, my fun little ice cream cone on my card comes from Stretch Your Imagination.  I haven't used that cart in a while so thought I would dust it off.  I am also entering this card into Hiding In My Craft Room's Scrap Saturday challenge.  All the papers on this card came from my scrap stash, so I have no idea what paper/paper pack they have come from.  I used some We R Memory Keepers twine and my stamp is from a Fiskars stamp set.  Mojo Monday is responsible for the sketch from their challenge this week and I am entering this in Whimsical Designs' challenge to keep it Clean and Simple.  Craftin Desert Diva's is still enjoying their linky party of All Things Summer, so I'll link this up over there too.  Hope you like!
