Decorate To Celebrate #111

Happy Wednesday!

Today over at Decorate To Celebrate
we have another Anything Goes challenge.

For this challenge I have finally completed a
project that has been on my mind for a couple months now.
I wanted to dress up my Tupperware mug
with Hot Pink Vinyl - so I did :)

Since my name is Emily and my nickname is Mollie
"M" was the perfect monogram for this.

I found all the cuts on Lyrical Letters.
They totally speak "me" :)
I just arranged them around my mug.

I love how it turned out.

I hope you will join us over at Decorate To Celebrate!

Thanks for checkin' in!!!

Decorate To Celebrate #94

Happy Wednesday!!!

Hope your week is going well!

we have a new challenge starting, and
remember as always, it's Anything Goes!

I decided to create a new St. Patrick's Day
decor piece.
I had my husband cut out a 7" x 11" piece of scrap MDF
we had in the garage.
I painted it with some Buttercream Acrylic Paint
then Mod Podged some cute Chevron paper (Hobby Lobby) to the front.

I inked around the edges with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.

The Shamrocks are from Celebrate With Flourish (LOVE this cart).
The letters are from Lyrical Letters.
And they are cut out of cardstock (not vinyl).

I adhered them all with my ATG and Zig 2 Way Glue Pen.

I love how this turned out :)

I hope that you will join us over at Decorate To Celebrate
for our new Anything Goes Challenge!

Thanks for checkin' in!!!

Decorate To Celebrate - Grandparents Day!

Happy Wednesday!!!

Hope you are all surviving the week!
I am still counting down til next Tuesday,
when my son starts Kindergarten - Can. Not. Wait!!!

But until then we have the all important day celebrating
Grandparents!!!

And that's just what we are doing over at Decorate To Celebrate!
We want to see how you honor the grandparents in your life!

To be honest, I would not be able to be a mom
without the help of my parents and my MIL!
They are LIFE SAVERS!

So today's project is how I am going to thank my
Mom and Dad!
They have 7 grand kids so I made this so they could
put a picture of each of them on here.
(Check back on Friday for how I will thank my MIL)

This is 100% Pinterest inspired too!
I have seen this type of board and pinned it to my Crafty Crafts
but haven't gotten around to completing it until now!

I really like how this turned out.

I started with an MDF board my husband cut and routed.

Then I painted it brown with some acrylic paint.
I used Mod Podge to adhere my cardstock
which all came from Close To My Heart.

The "grandkids" I cut from Lyrical Letters
out of turquoise cardstock (not vinyl)
and adhered them with my Zig 2 Way Pen.
I then put a top coat of Mod Podge over the whole thing.

The clothes pins were glued with Scotch Quick Dry
and the cardstock on the top of them was adhered with Mod Podge.

It really was an easy project to put together!

Here is what it will look like with some pics...

I hope you will join us over at Decorate To Celebrate!
And please remember that you can always
enter ways you celebrate Birthdays too!
(Just please no cards or layouts)

Thanks for checkin' in!!!

 My Project:
My sister's birthday was last week, and last year on Pinterest I saw a funny sign that said something like "I can't remember if I'm the good sister or the evil one" so I decided to make her something along those lines.  She LOVES purple so I found some fun purple pattern paper and mod podged it to a wood plaque ($1 from Wal-Mart).  I did paint the plaque first with black acrylic paint.  I cut the letters from Lyrical Letters out of some black cardstock and adhered them with a Zig Two-Way Pen (I didn't use vinyl this time).  I put a final coat of Mod Podge over the letters, let it dry, then embellished it up with some paper flowers and bling from Michael's.  I also wanted to make a fun Gift Card holder for her and pulled out my Tags, Bags, Boxes, and More.  I cut out the purse using some solid light purple cardstock, then cut it out again using the same pattern paper as the plaque and adhered them together to make a more sturdy box.  I embellished it up with some ribbon and flat back pearls.  The tag on the front is also from TBB&M.  She loved them and was excited about the funny plaque - she actually said "Do you even have to ask? Of course, I'm the evil one."  HA HA!!!
Anyway, I hope you are having fun along the Blog Crawl! Your next stop is

Make sure and link up your projects over at FCCB when your done!!!

BBTB2 - Awareness Month

Cricut, Pink Journey, Lyrical Letters, Breast Cancer Awareness

Hello all you BBTB2 fans! This week we have a FANTASTIC challenge going on!!! As you may well know, it is Awareness Month and we want to see your projects that honor the importance of being aware of the different illnesses and dieseases out there - especially Breast Cancer!  It is so critical that, as women, we get the screenings done that are so important to help detect Breast Cancer as early as possible.  I had my first mammogram done this year, and IT'S NOT THAT BAD!!!  Really!  Piece of CAKE!!!  And after watching my husband go what he went through this last year, I'm getting one done as often as possible to detect any sign of abnormality as soon as it may appear! I strongly encourage you to as well!!!

For my project, my mom asked me to make another "something" for her friend who just learned that she has Breast Cancer and is going to start chemo in the next week or so.  I told her of the phrase "fight like a girl" and she LOVED it, so I made this wood plaque for her to give to her friend so she can hang it on the wall, or just display it however she wants.  The plaque comes from Wal-Mart and I just painted it with a rose colored acrylic paint.  I Mod Podged some patterned paper from My Mind's Eye on top and used Pink Journey for the ribbon and phrase "Fight".  I used Lyrical Letters  for "like a girl".  My flowers are from Recollections and I just used glue dots to hold those down.  My mom loves how it turned out and we are both praying that her friend does put up a fight through her treatments.

I hope that you will join us over at BBTB2 this week, I would love to see what you come up with and what awareness/cause is near and dear to you!

Trick or Treat

Cricut, Simply Charmed, Lyrical Letters, Halloween Decor

I am excited to have some Halloween Decor (finally) and I have Decorate to Celebrate to thank!!!  The challenge they have going on is to create a decoration or favor for a Halloween Party.  I host a family party at my house each year and I get to show off this cute Trick or Treat sign I made!  The base is chip board and I attached them together by using a hole punch and tying ribbon through them.  I used Simply Charmed for all my images, Lyrical Letters "Jack Sprat" font for my letters, and my paper and ribbon is from The Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby).  I will also be linking up over at Little Scrap Pieces for the Fun Linky Friday.

Here are some close up looks at my sign:

FCCB Challenge #176 - Name That Tune

Cricut, Lyrical Letters, Altered Notebook

HAPPY LABOR DAY!!!  Hope everyone has had an amazing weekend and holiday! So maybe you can take this day to get in your craft rooms and make something musical! Musical? Yes, musical.  This week over at FCCB we are having a challenge that's all about music - "Name That Tune" is our challenge for you.  And I can't wait to see what you "drum" up!  I was being totally selfish with my project this week and made myself a piano teacher notebook by altering a steno book.  I LOVE IT!!!  I used Lyrical Letters for the "Just A Note" and all the little notes.  Did you know about all the hidden gems on this cartridge towards the end of the handbook? I didn't and had to gush over all of them in my video (it will be uploaded later today).  My paper is from My Mind's Eye Lost & Found and I just tied some simple ribbon up at the top.  I am also going to be linking this up over at Cut It Up for their challenge to alter a notebook - it's so much fun to do, if you never have!  So make sure you sneak away to your craft room this week and link up your musical themed projects.

AND REMEMBER - FCCB's Vinyl Education Week is only a week away, so if you can, get your vinyl ordered from Cricket Vinyl Supplies so you can participate with us all next week!  AND SPREAD THE WORD - If we get 100 participants in NEXT WEEK's Vinyl Challenge, there will be a Cricut Expression giveaway!!!

I am also entering this project into Cut It Up's Challenge of an Altered Notebook.  You should go check out the awesome projects the DT has come up with over there - incredible!

Have Your Cake...

I combined two challenges for this card, Pause Dream Enjoy issued the challenge themed "Desserts" and Paper Playtime issued the challenge themed "Brown".  Chocolate Cake, anyone?  Yes, please!  This slice of cake was cut from Sweet Treats, with Divine Swirls embossed into it.  The lettering on the inside was cut from Lyrical Letters.  I love brown and pink together, so this card was definitely my style!  Hope you enjoy, even if you can't really eat it!

Playtime with Flowers

Here is a project I just finished that is definitely not my own idea. I saw it at the beginning of the Country Life cartridge booklet and thought I would give it a try. I found a really cute shadow box frame at Hobby Lobby that I painted and then cut out vinyl lettering from Lyrical Letters to go along with the picture. This project is for the paperplaytime.blogspot.com challenge to use flowers for your project. I do like how it turned out, even though I didn't think of it entirely on my own. Hopefully, my interpretation of the idea is original enough.
