It is from the Birthday Bash and I cut it at 4".

cut a sentiment tag and stamp
the pun "Cow's it going?" from Mary's CardzTV
More Critter Captions stamp set.

All the paper comes from Carta Bella
and the glitter dots are from Recollections.

The sketch is from Die Cuttin' Divas

CardzTV "Oh SNAP!"

WAHOO!!! It's Friday!!!

So happy that the weekend is here!

But before that gets started, we have a super fun
challenge starting over at CardzTV!

CLICK HERE TO ORDER CARDZ TV STAMPS!

We want you to create a Child's Birthday Card
using Buttons, Brads, and/or Bows.

I decided to create a more boyish card for this challenge
because I never seem to have one when I need one :)

So here is my project:
I used Birthday Bash to cut out this cute little gator.
I used some black brads for the eyes and
I inked around the edges with some
ColorBox Aquamarine Chalk Ink.

The sentiment is from CardzTV "This N That" set and I
cut the mat using some zig zag scissors.
I also inked around the edges of that.

My ribbon is from American Crafts and my paper is from
DCWV The Birthday Wishes 6x6 stack.

 Here is the inside:
I printed out on some green cardstock the
"It's Your Birthday" from my computer,
then stamped the "Have a happy YOU day!" underneath.
That stamp is also from the This N That set.

I cut this mat with the zig zag scissors and
inked around these edges too.

I added a scrap piece left over from the front
for a bit of an accent on the inside.

I think this turned out super fun for a little boy!

I hope that you will join us over at CardzTV for this
awesome challenge and can't wait to see what you come up with!

Thanks for checkin' in!!!

My Project:
Welcome to another Super Scraps Saturday!!! I LOVE going through my scrap stash and discovering AWESOME papers that have long been forgotten!!!  I was so excited to find this flowering Spring paper to create a bright and beautiful Spring card!  I used Birthday Bash for the scalloped circle card shape, cut at 5 1/4"; and Once Upon A Princess for the butterfly, cut at 2 1/2".  My stamp is from a Fiskars mini set and I used flat back pearls from Hobby Lobby's The Paper Studio.  I followed the sketch from Die Cuttin' Divas so I will be linking this up over there, and Cuttin' and Stampin' has a challenge to use a butterfly so this will be shared over there too.  I hope that you will be able to join in the HIMCR challenge this week and be sure to check out all the DT projects - they are fabulous, as always!

BBTB2 - Use a Cricut Cut as a Stencil

Hello!!! Happy Monday to all of you!!!
Today over at BBTB2 we have a super fun challenge starting!
Now you know I LOVE my Cricut and making cards, but one of the other things I love my Cricut for is to make other types of crafts including - Glass Etching!  Have you ever tried it before?  Well you can use your Cricut to create stencils for just this type of project!

And that is what the challenge is - to use a Cricut cut as a Stencil.

You can create any type of project, I decided to etch "Treats!" on this fun glass jar I picked up from Tai Pan for $2.  The cut comes from Birthday Bash, it's one of the phrases you can find on that cart.
I have pictures to show you the different steps I follow when I etch.

1.  Cut the stencil out on some vinyl and position it on whatever glass you are using.

2. Using a paint brush, cover the stencil with a good coating of the Armour Etch.  You can buy this at any craft store or online.  I bought mine at Hobby Lobby and used a 40% coupon.  Let it sit for 30 minutes or so then wipe it off with a paper towel - be sure to follow the directions on the bottle and take the precautions like wearing gloves and such :)  Peel off the vinyl and just use some water to rinse off any remaining "paste" (don't know what else to call it).  Dry off the glass and you're good to go!!!

3. My favorite step - Fill It Up!
Actually, my favorite step is eating the treats inside :)
Honestly though, this is one of the things I do for birthday gifts for neighbors and friends.  I just tie a cute little ribbon or some tulle around it and make a tag to add and it's good to go!
But I think I am keeping this one for myself :)

I hope you are able to join us over at BBTB2 this week and be sure to check out all the amazing projects done by the Design Team!!!

Thanks for checkin' in!!!

Get Well Soon

I am so glad there were some challenges this week to help me put together a Get Well Soon card. I didn't have any in my inventory, so YAY! for being prepared when someone I know is sick! I followed the Mojo Monday sketch for the week and chose the scallop circle card, haven't done one in a while. Then over at CardzTV there is a fun color challenge of black, white, and a POP of yellow. I am also entering this into My Craft Spot (Get Well Soon), Exploring Cricut (use at least two cuts) and Use It Tuesday (trends).  I used Birthday Bash for the scallop circle card and the two base mats, George for my ovals, and Walk In My Garden for the Iris's. When I first heard of the trend "Washi Tape", I had no idea what it was, but I had to have it, so I went out and found some black and white tape about a year ago. This is the second time I have used it, so I wasn't so good at actually following/using the trend. But you can see the Washi tape behind my oval mat. I also used some flat back pearls from Michaels to finish off the card. I'm pleased with how this turned out and have a video for you to watch how it all came together.

Happy Birthday to "Ewe"

Cricut, Birthday Bash Cartridge, Birthday Card, Happy Birthday
Here is a fun Birthday card I made using the Birthday Bash cartridge.  I combined 5 challenges with the card too!  Craftin' Desert Divas (Birthday), Exploring Cricut (Down on the Farm), Whimsical Designs (Pile It On), Die Cuttin' Divas (Anything Goes), and the sketch comes from Mojo Monday.  I had fun encorporating all of these challenges!  I so wish I had some of the fun pun stamp sets that so many of the crafters have created, but until then I am fine using the phrases that the different Cricut cartridges have to go along with the cuts.  My paper comes from Cloud 9 Designs "Fiesta Gloss", I used Swiss Dots embossing folder for the wool, and a couple of flowers from Michael's bargain bin.  I have put together a video to show how it all came together...

So Happy For You ... FCCB Challenge #165 Wedding Days

Come on over to FCCB this week and play along with another great challenge!  It's all about Wedding Days!  Have I mentioned that we have a bunch of weddings this month?  2 down, 2 to go and this card is for the 3rd wedding we will be attending.  Anyway, I used Birthday Bash for the scallop circle shape card and mats. I used Sweethearts for the wedding couple and ran the dress and veil through the Cuttlebug Divine Swirls folder. The veil was made just by cutting out the hair in white and layering it. The couple is popped up using two thicknesses of foam tape. The patterned paper comes from My Mind's Eye 6x6 Lost and Found Madison Avenue pack. The sentiment is from the CardzTV Happy Days stamp set. I hope the happy couple will like this card!

So Happy For You!

Here is the third wedding card I have come up with and I am entering it into the challenge Pause Dream Enjoy Challenge has issued - Use Foam Tape.  Can I just say that I LOVE foam tape!  Marvelous Mary over at CardzTV has been using it and mentioned she buys it at Big Lots and that it's pretty cheap.  So on one of my ventures out I went in search of it.  I did find it at Big Lots and it is CHEAP!  I don't think I will ever by dimensionals again!  It works great and one roll goes a LONG way.  Thanks again Mary for another awesome tip!

FCCB Challenge #161 - Oh Baby!

It's another fun week over at FCCB!  It's time to get the creative juices flowing for our family and/or friends who are going to be adding a little addition to their clan.  Oh Baby! is this week's challenge.  And it couldn't have been better timing, at least for me, there are a few friends I need to send cards to.  This card was created using Birthday Bash for the base and scallop mat.  It's cut at 5" so it will fit in a 5x5 envelope.  The pea pod image is from New Arrival, but I don't have that cartridge, I have Best Images of 2006 and this is included on that cart.  I so desperately need to order some Peachy Keen face stamps.  In the right light you can see a little face on the baby that was cut, but oh my goodness, how cute would a cutie face look on this!  I believe I cut the image out at 4" and I used foam tape to pop the image up.  The patterned paper is from Heidi Grace Designs "BGirl Stripe".  I used Mini Monograms for the smaller scallop on the inside.  I hope you will join us this week for the challenge!

Congratulations Graduate! FCCB Challenge #160

And yet another school year is coming to an end, with it a slew of happy graduates!  We are honoring all the grads this week over at FCCB, so hopefully you will play along with us.  This card I made for my sister-in-law who graduated from UVU with her bachelor's.  She still has 5 kids at home and made it through!  I am so proud of her and happy that she is done with school.  For this card I used Birthday Bash for the base (stamp) card.  The grad cap is from Wrap It Up and I used dimensionals to pop it up.  The paper is from TPC Studio Valedictorian Hat Toss.  On the inside I used the reverse side of the paper and tied some baker's twine around it.  I have already given this card to her, because she graduated a couple of weeks ago, but I do have to say that she loved it :)

Most Loved Mom

Here is my card for my dear MIL.  Once again, my camera just doesn't quite capture the colors of this card, so just know that it does look really great in person.  I used Celebrate with Flourish (a new cart I just got and LOVE!) for the rose, cut at 4".  When my FIL was alive he would always give my MIL a single rose for special occasions, so I thought this cut would be perfect.  I used Birthday Bash for the scallop card base and mat, cut at 5".  BBTB2 , My Craft Spot, and CardzTV have challenges this week of creating a card for Mother's Day, so I am linking this up to those blogs.  Hope you all have a wonderful Mother's Day this Sunday!

My First Shape Card

This was a first for me!  I have been intimidated by using the card function on all my carts so I am thankful for the Cricut Cardz challenge "Be My Valentine" to kind of play around with it.  I appreciate the Cricut Cardz Design Team and the inspiration/instruction on how to create a shape card.  So this circle card was cut from Birthday Bash along with the scallop.  The heart was cut from George, and the couple was cut from Sweethearts.  I inked the edges with ColorBox Chalk Ink and I used dimensionals inbetween each of the layers for a 3D look.  I really like how this turned out, it was something different for me.

Time Flies

Okay, so I looked through all of my cartridges, and believe it or not, I could not find a clock of any sort!  I did, however, find a few phrases with the word "time", so I decided on this one from Birthday Bash, since I am still making the stash of Birthday Cards for my mother-in-law to use throughout the year.  The cake is also from Birthday Bash, I used WRMemory Keepers Baker's Twine and Stickles for the candles.  Anyway, this card is being entered into the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge of "Time Flies".  Hopefully, it will still be accepted in the challenge even though there isn't a clock.  And a side note, time really does fly!  I can't believe that it has been 9 months since my baby was born and 8 months since my husband was diagnosed with cancer.  It seems like our life is in slow motion at times, but then again, it seems like it is flying by.  My husband started another chemo cycle today, we only have three left of this particular type, and it seems like we just started the first cycle, so yeah, time can fly by, even when you're not having fun:)

Another Year Wiser

My Craft Spot issued the challenge of "Wish Big!" (Anything Birthday).  I used this challenge to create a more mature, masculine birthday card.  This owl was cut from Create-A-Critter and the phrase was cut from Birthday Bash.  I inked around the edges with a creamy brown chalk ink from ColorBox and used hemp cord to add a little something other than ribbon.  I really like how it turned out, hopefully so will the recipient :)

It's Your Birthday!

Little Scrap Pieces issued a challenge to stock up on our Birthday cards, we can never have enough on hand, right?  Well, I have a nephew that turned 5 last week and my family is getting together in a couple of days for cake and ice cream to celebrate.  I didn't have a card ready for a little boy, so I created this using the Cricut Lite Playtime cart that came with my Expression.  The balloon is cut from Birthday Bash.  I embossed the mat with Swiss Dots.  This was a fun little card to make, I just hope it doesn't get ripped to shreds once my nephew opens it, he can be a bit destructive :)

You Rock! Masculine Card

I am back at it...making cards!  It has been quite the year since I posted last March!  I had a baby in May and then my husband was diagnosed with Cancer (Lymphoblastic Lymphoma) in June.  So needless to say it has been a busy time in our lives and I have only recently been able to get back in my craft room.  My husband is doing okay, he is through the worst portions of his chemo.  It's a 2 year treatment plan and we are almost to the maintenance phase where he will be able to return to work.  The baby is perfect, she is such a blessing and I truly don't think I would have been able to get through this crazy trial without her sweet spirit, she is without a doubt a true miracle.  I have many goals this year, but they all center around being "better".  And one of them is to be a better, more consistent crafter.  I have found that crafting is my escape and I have needed to escape many times during the last 6 months.  I want to get back into challenges and making cards for others.  So here is my first card for my first challenge this year.  It's for the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog and we needed to make a masculine themed card.  I have a nephew with a Birthday this month and thought this would fit the bill.  Hope you enjoy!
