Decorate To Celebrate - Recipe Book

Happy Wednesday!

Welcome to the last Decorate To Celebrate
challenge of the year - can you believe it?!?!

We will be taking a break until January,
so be sure to come back in 2016 :)

For my project, I decided to make a quick
recipe book for a friend of mine
with some fun recipes inside.

I used some chip board to create the cover and
decorated it with paper from Close To My Heart.
I used my Bind It All to put the book together.
The "recipes" cut is from "From My Kitchen".

I just added some more decorative paper on the
inside of the cover.

I hand-wrote some of my favorite "go-to" recipes
on the first few pages and then filled the rest of the
book with blank recipe pages so my friend can add
to it.

Super simple and cute gift idea for any occasion.

I hope you all have a wonderful Holiday Season!

Thanks for checkin' in!!!

BBTB2 - Grillin' N Chillin'

Happy Monday!!!

Hope everyone enjoyed celebrating Father's Day yesterday!!!

Today over at BBTB2 we have a new challenge
starting all about FOOD!!!

It is National Onion Ring Day, so in honor
of that we want to see projects featuring food.
There are so many options to choose from
with all the Cricut images dedicated to this wonderful subject,
it shouldn't be too hard to do :)

I pulled out the From My Kitchen cartridge and
decided to make a BBQ themed card.
I actually gave this to my dad yesterday for Father's Day,
along with a fun BBQ tool set.
He loves to BBQ in the summer and
steak is probably his favorite food to throw out there!

I used paper from My Mind's Eye and
Enamel Dots from Recollections.

The sentiment comes from CardzTV's "Summer Fun"
Stamp Set.

I hope you will join us for this fun challenge!

Thanks for checkin' in!!!

BBTB2 - National Hobby Month - Craft your Hobbies

Oh, it's good to get back to a routine and start crafting and creating again!!!  This week over at BBTB2 we have a challenge showcasing the fact that it is National Hobby Month.  Well, to say that crafting is a hobby of mine is a bit of an understatement, it's more of an addiction :) But I would say that cooking and baking is a hobby.  I don't love it like I do crafting, but I enjoy trying new dishes and continually perfecting the old ones. So for my project this week, I decided to do a mini album recipe book.  I have never done a mini before - I don't scrapbook - so it was fun to create one! I used the From My Kitchen cartridge for the tab pages and all the images.  I used my Zutter Bind-It-All to put the book together.  The pages are big enough to fit 3x5 recipe cards in the pockets.  The pages are cut from chipboard so it is thick enough and sturdy enough to hold up in my recipe book cupboard.  I hope that you will join us over at BBTB2 for our fun challenge this week and am anxious to see what all your other hobbies are!
Thanks for checkin' in!

It's The New Year!!!

Here is another New Year's card that I put together for the Exploring Cricut challenge this week.  I also followed the Mojo Monday sketch for the week.  Now maybe I'm the only one who gets this card, when I showed my husband my idea for this card, he didn't really think it would make a good New Year's card because no one would understand it.  Well, that made me want to do the card even more - maybe just to spite him :) Anyway, all growing up and even now, the tradition in my family was to ring in the New Year by banging pots and pans outside at midnight.  And I know that we weren't the only family doing it because I could hear other pots and pans being clanged in the neighborhood.  So when I started thinking about this tradition, I pulled out From My Kitchen and cut the pot and pan and a couple spoons to put on my card.  I even used some Washi Tape!  I think it turned out super fun, but am I crazy or does this card make sense to you too?  I would love to hear your family traditions to ring in the New Year.

A Family Recipe

Over at Exploring Cricut they have a challenge of "What's Cooking?" and I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to make a recipe card for a friend of mine who I promised to get a recipe to.  I whipped out my From My Kitchen Cartridge (LOVE) and put this fun card together.  I used paper from DCWV Nana's Kitchen and two stamps from Fiskar's "Recipe Madness" stamp set.  I have made a video so you can find out how it all came together.  I did follow Mojo Monday's sketch and I will also be entering this into HIMCR's "LOL" challenge (Lots of Layers).  Thanks for checking in!

Wildly Yummy Birthday!

Cricut, From My Kitchen, Cupcake, Birthday

Over at An Inky Situation, there is a cupcake challenge going on and I thought I would put together a quick card and video for it. I am also going to be linking up over at Little Scrap Pieces (you can link up ANY card project or layout).  At first I didn't know what I was going to do with the cute cupcake I cut out using the From My Kitchen cartridge, but when I remembered I had a super cute paper pack from Heidi Swapp "Sugar Chic" with safari prints, I knew exactly what to do. My niece's birthday is next week and she LOVES zebra print, so it just all came together. I printed out the sentiment 'Have a Wildly Yummy Birthday" from my computer and popped it up on some foam tape. My cupcake is also popped up on some foam tape for added dimension. I used some bling from a Michael's $1.50 pack and called it good. The inside just has a zebra mat and yellow card stock for writing a fun message. Super fun! Hope she likes it!

And here is the video...
