Decorate To Celebrate - You're Invited!

Happy Wednesday!

Welcome to another Anything Goes Challenge

My awesome sister asked me to help make some
Bridal Shower Invites for her co-worker
and this is what I came up with....

I used Everyday Pop-Up Cards for the dress,
Divine Swirls for the embossing, and Sweethearts
for the sentiment tag.

The background paper was from Hobby Lobby.

The Bride-To-Be loved how they turned out,
which makes me so happy :)

BBTB2 - Wedding Celebrations!

Happy Monday!!!
AND Happy JUNE!!!

Summer is here!
Oh Boy!

Today over at BBTB2 we are celebrating the Month of Weddings!
We want to see wedding/anniversary projects!

I kept mine super simple, by making a Gift Card Holder.

Sometimes, I just LOVE paper so much,
that it is what I want the focal point of the card to be.
As in this case :)
I used my Envelope Punch Board from We R Memory Keepers
to punch out the gift card sized holder.
I used Sweethearts for the Chartreuse tag.
The sentiment is from CardzTV "Happy Days"
and the glitter gems are from Hobby Lobby.

For the back I cut the rings from Sweethearts.

And it fits the gift card perfectly!

Like I said, super simple!!!

I hope that you will join us over at BBTB2 this week!

Thanks for checkin' in!!!

BBTB2 - Let's Dance

Happy Monday!!!

I hope you are all enjoying your Memorial Day,
and are able to take a moment to remember all those
that have been lost for our freedoms.

Today over at BBTB2, it is my privilege to announce
the challenge for the week...
Let's Dance!

My 3 year old daughter is going to be starting dance lessons
next month and I am so excited for it!
So in honor of this event I thought it would be fun
to create projects that have to do with dancing.

I used Once Upon a Princess for this little ballerina.
My papers are from My Mind's Eye.
The base mat was cut from Elegant Edges.

The glitter ribbon is from CTMH.

I used a Fiskars stamp for the "Bravo" and the
tag is from Sweethearts.

I used a PKS Princess Assortment for the cute little face.

I hope that you will join us for this challenge
over at BBTB2 this week!

Thanks for checkin' in!!!

Decorate To Celebrate - Bridal Shower Favors

Happy Wednesday!!!

Welcome to another challenge over at

I was honored enough to be asked to
create Party Favors for my SIL's soon to be SIL's
Bridal Shower :)

Her colors are brown/tan and white/silver/gray,
so I decided to bag up some
"Hugs & Kisses"
and tie a cute tag around them.

The tag comes from the Sweethearts cartridge
and my paper is from Echo Park.
I cut them out at 2 1/2 inches.

I think the kisses and bells have a similar
look, so I am happy with how these turned out
together.

I love using Curling Ribbon for little goodie bags,
makes things easy peasy!!!

And I don't have to feel bad thinking about
it getting thrown away, like I do twine :)

I hope you will join us over at DTC this week!

Thanks for checkin' in!!!

6x6 paper pack I picked up at Hobby Lobby.

My sentiments are from Craftin' Desert Divas
and CardzTV.

I hope that you will join in over at Die Cuttin' Divas

my favorite complimentary color to pink - BROWN.

my favorite ways to dress up cards-
embossing.
I found the embossing folder at JoAnn's (Darice)
and I LOVE this design.
I also LOVE flat back pearls to use for my embellishments!

My Project:
So, I just have to say how much I LOVED working with the paper I got from the Paper Temptress!!! The DT was able to order some for this challenge, and I couldn't be more happy with my choices.  First off, I LOVE the shimmer and shine to this paper - BEAUTIFUL!!! Secondly, it cut and embossed PERFECTLY!!!  What more could you ask for in paper, right?  Anyway, I decided for my CAS card to make a Valentine's card.  The sketch comes from Mojo Monday, so I will link this up over there.  I rounded all my corners though, using my large corner rounder from Hobby Lobby/Paper Studio.  I used Swiss Dots, Divine Swirls, and Doodle Hearts embossing folders.  My hearts come from the Sweethearts cartridge and my sentiment stamp is from a Fiskar's mini set.  I will also be linking this up over at Little Scrap Pieces.  I hope you are able to join us this week over at HIMCR for our CAS challenge!  Thanks for checkin' in!!!

HIMCR Challenge #130 - Anything But Holiday

Over at HIMCR this week, we want to see any of your projects that aren't holiday!  Don't get me wrong, I love the holidays, but it's refreshing to see fun ideas for other occasions!  I decided to do a wedding card because my cousin got married yesterday and I needed to put something together for her.  I used the Sweethearts cartridge for the bells image and my pattern paper is from Teresa Collins 6x6 Memories pack. I also "followed" the sketch from Mojo Monday for the week, it's not exactly the sketch, but I did draw inspiration from it.  I will also be linking this up over at Little Scrap Pieces for the Fun Friday Linky Party.  Thanks for checkin' in!!!

So Happy For You ... FCCB Challenge #165 Wedding Days

Come on over to FCCB this week and play along with another great challenge!  It's all about Wedding Days!  Have I mentioned that we have a bunch of weddings this month?  2 down, 2 to go and this card is for the 3rd wedding we will be attending.  Anyway, I used Birthday Bash for the scallop circle shape card and mats. I used Sweethearts for the wedding couple and ran the dress and veil through the Cuttlebug Divine Swirls folder. The veil was made just by cutting out the hair in white and layering it. The couple is popped up using two thicknesses of foam tape. The patterned paper comes from My Mind's Eye 6x6 Lost and Found Madison Avenue pack. The sentiment is from the CardzTV Happy Days stamp set. I hope the happy couple will like this card!

So Happy For You!

Here is the third wedding card I have come up with and I am entering it into the challenge Pause Dream Enjoy Challenge has issued - Use Foam Tape.  Can I just say that I LOVE foam tape!  Marvelous Mary over at CardzTV has been using it and mentioned she buys it at Big Lots and that it's pretty cheap.  So on one of my ventures out I went in search of it.  I did find it at Big Lots and it is CHEAP!  I don't think I will ever by dimensionals again!  It works great and one roll goes a LONG way.  Thanks again Mary for another awesome tip!

A Bicycle Built for Two

Here is the next installment of the wedding cards I am working on.  I was so glad that Die Cuttin' Divas inspired me to use a bike with this week's challenge.  I thought how fun it would be to create a wedding card with a bicycle built for two!  So this card was created with the Sweethearts cartridge and My Mind's Eye 6x6 Lost & Found Madison Avenue paper pack.  I used Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink to ink all the edges.  A fun and simple card, and I really like the message of "together".  Marriage is all about working together just like riding a tandem bike.  Maybe a little cheesy, but it's hard work trying to stay "in sync" sometimes, you just have to keep at it.

Okay, So One More Valentine...

I totally lied, I said I was done with Valentine's cards.  One last one, I promise!!!  I couldn't NOT participate in the Crafty Cardz Challenge, especially since it's the first one after the launch of the new and improved name!  I'm so excited for Mary and her team over at CardzTV!  The challenge was to create a Valentine with a "critter".  I have combined this challenge with Whimsical Wednesday's challenge of 3, 2, 1 (3 of something, 2 of something, and 1 something).  Well, I found a cute Studio G stamp set for $1 at the "Wally" store, as we call it in our home (Wal-Mart), with the Owl pun and I wanted to use it.  I decided not to use the obvious Owl from Create-a-Critter, even though he is soooo cute, and opted for this little guy from Animal Kingdom.  I have had the Animal Kingdom cartridge for over a year and have never used it, I thought now would be a good opportunity to try it out.  The branch is from Home Decor and the cartoche is from Sweethearts.  I embossed the light pink mat with Paper Studio's Curl Ribbon Embossing Folder, which you can't see very well, but it is a very close match to the strips of patterned paper, which by the way there are 3 of.  The owl's 2 eyes are Recollections Rhinestone bling.  And the 1 bow is tied from Jute and stuck on with a glue dot (and can I just say, "How did I make it almost 2 years crafting and card making without ever using glue dots?" I LOVE THEM!).  I inked all the edges with Tim Holtz Tea Dyed Distress Ink and popped the owl and sentiment up on pop dots.  I'm happy with how it turned out, the owl isn't my favorite; he definitely isn't as cute as the Create-A-Critter one, but he works.  Thanks for enduring this post, if you got through it, so many run-on sentences my English professor would scold me!  Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Various Valentine's Challenges

Guess what?  Yep, another Valentine card...all the challenges this week have been centered around Valentine's, as Thursday is the Day itself.  And honestly, I hope this is the last Valentine's Card I'm going to do this year...I'm kind of burned out.  I was even to the point of just kind of combining different elements of all the cards I've done into one.  I embossed the mat with Doodle Hearts, the lovely lady is from Sweethearts (she does have a partner usually, I just cut him off).  The flowers are from Recollections.  I inked all the edges with ColorBox Chalk Ink.  The layout was designed by MojoMonday for their sketch challenge.  I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:
More Than Favors
FCCB
BBTB2
Little Scrap Pieces
My Craft Spot
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a fantastic Valentine's Day!!!

My First Shape Card

This was a first for me!  I have been intimidated by using the card function on all my carts so I am thankful for the Cricut Cardz challenge "Be My Valentine" to kind of play around with it.  I appreciate the Cricut Cardz Design Team and the inspiration/instruction on how to create a shape card.  So this circle card was cut from Birthday Bash along with the scallop.  The heart was cut from George, and the couple was cut from Sweethearts.  I inked the edges with ColorBox Chalk Ink and I used dimensionals inbetween each of the layers for a 3D look.  I really like how this turned out, it was something different for me.
