Decorate To Celebrate! Valentine's Style

Happy Wednesday!!!

Welcome to another Anything Goes Challenge

I know, I know, Valentine's is over,
but I had to share a fun treat box I made...

This Scepter Box is found
on the Life's A Party Cartridge.

I cut it at 9 1/4".
The heart design paper is from American Crafts.
I just used some craft, pink, and white card stock
for the mat.

I filled it up with some chocolate covered raisins
tied the top together with some fun ribbon,
and WHALA...
a perfect Valentine's to give to a special someone!

Thanks for checkin' in!!!

My Project:
So there are 6 days left until NFL kickoff -
SO EXCITED!!!
And my son just had his first Flag Football game last night -
SO FUN!!!
Needless to say Football is on my brain and it's what I
had to base my card on for this challenge :)

I used Life's A Party for the football and phrase cut.
My paper is from a 4x6" Brag Pad
"Little Sport" by Heidi Larsen.
I picked it up in the clearance section of Hobby Lobby :)

I popped the football up on some foam tape
and added a little enamel dot in the bottom corner.

I think I may give this to my son's coach as a thank you
when the season is over.

I hope you will join us over at Cut It Up!

Thanks for checkin' in!!!

Happy Friday All!!!

I am so looking forward to this weekend to start,
how about you?

Well, we have another challenge starting over at Cut It Up
and the most talented Cindy has chosen a super fun theme!
Cut It Up

Challenge #52
Grandparent's Day

$20 Coupon Code

Die-Version
$15 Gift Certificate

My Project:

What a fun day to honor our grandparents and parents!
I actually don't have any grandparents left, they have all passed on,
but my kids have my parents and my husband's mom to wish
a Happy Grandparent's Day to!

So this is the little gift box I decided to make my MIL to
thank her for being such an AMAZING Grandma to my littles!
My FIL passed away before my kids were born, but
I still wanted to honor him with this box, too.

I decided to use the family tree and stencil phrase
"Families are Forever"
from the "Just Because" Cards cartridge.
Our family knows that we will see my FIL again,
and we truly believe that families can be together forever,
so I thought this would be a perfect way to include my FIL in this day.

The box comes from Life's A Party and I cut it out at 2 3/4".
All the paper comes from Close To My Heart, as well as
the embellishments (Skylark collection), except for the
rhinestones, they came from Michael's.

This box will be filled with Dark Chocolate
(my MIL's favorite)

I hope that you will join us over at Cut It Up
and show us how you celebrate
Grandparent's Day!

Thanks for checkin' in!!!

BBTB2 - One For The Boys (Football/Sports)

Cricut, Life's A Party, Swiss Dots, Football Card

Alright, so this week's challenge maybe "One For The Boys" where we need to create a masculine "sporty" card, but, bag that!  I'm a HUGE Football fan and we host the SuperBowl every year at our house, so this one's not just for the boys, but for me too!  Just kidding, but seriously, I decided to use this opportunity to create the invitation for the SuperBowl in February.  And, I am banking (or just REALLY hoping) on the Bronco's (my favorite team) going to the SuperBowl and decided to use their colors for the inside of my invite.  I used Life's A Party for the shape card, the "Game Day" phrase, and the "date/time/place" words.  If you haven't checked out this cartridge, it's really awesome, SO MANY options!!!  I decided to emboss the football with Swiss Dots for some added texture and I think it turned out pretty great!  I hope you are able to join us this week over at BBTB2 for our masculine challenge and can't wait to see what you come up with!

HIMCR Challenge #122 - Fall Colors!

Challenge #122 - Fall Colors!

Up For Grabs:
$5 Gift Certificate - Digital Images

My Project:
...And We Are Living In A Digital World, And I Am A Digital Girl...(if you can figure this musical phrase out to a popular 80's tune, more power to ya!)...But seriously...I am NOT a Digital Girl.  I have little to no experience, so this challenge was a CHALLENGE!!!  But I did figure it out - YEAH!!!  And Template Dreams made it that much easier, except what to use - they have SO MANY templates to choose from and if you are a Digital Crafter, you have to check them out!

Anyway, I may not be a Digital Girl, but I am a HUGE Football Girl - LOVE when Football season starts - one of the many reasons I love Fall.  So I had to choose "The Big Game" template.  SO MUCH FUN!!! I loved the little button/brads that they had so I printed them on regular white cardstock and cut them out.  I also loved the paper choices, it was hard to choose, but I narrowed it down and printed two out on some white cardstock as well.  Because I LOVE my Cricut, I did use the phrase "Go Team" from Life's A Party, cut at 1 1/4".  I threw some twine around the paper and decided to just tie a knot - more masculine than a bow.  I popped the button/brads up on some foam tape and called it AWESOME! Not too shabby for my first time playing around with digital stuff.

The challenge over at HIMCR is to create a project using Fall Colors - and even though my card isn't the traditional Fall colors, Football is definitely a Fall activity.  I hope you are able to join us this week for a fun challenge and be entered for your chance at a gift cert over at Template Dreams.

3D Project - FCCB Challenge #157

Another week of fun challenges, starting with FCCB!!!  This week you need to make a 3D project.  My son just started his first year of soccer and his first game was on Saturday.  Each week, the parents rotate and bring treats for the team.  I decided when it's my turn I am going to make these fun glasses from the Life's A Party cartridge, and give them to the kids (along with juice boxes and granola bars).  I basically used the same colors as in the handbook.  I played around a little bit with the sizes, I first put in an 8 1/2" x 11" in the bottom corner of my mat, moved the blade to the top corner of the paper and Set Cut Area.  I then used Fit to Page to see how big they would be.  I am pretty sure it calculated the size to 5", but I did think that was a bit big, so I just cut them out at 4" instead.  I have tried to get my son to sit for pictures while wearing them, but he doesn't like to pose, so there isn't a picture of him, but they do look pretty cute on my 4 year old.  Hope you have fun making your projects this week!  Check out the other Design Team member's creations over at FCCB!

Thinking of You

I am really loving MojoMonday's!  I love finding inspiration through sketches!  It really helps me think outside my little creative box that I find so limiting at times.  The sketch challenge this week is awesome, please go check it out if you haven't already!  The other challenge I am entering this card into is BBTB2's 3D Rose Challenge.  So I had to improvise on this challenge because you were supposed to use the Art Philosophy cart or any other cart with 3D flowers.  And although I would love to own the Art Philosophy cart, it's a little pricey for me.  If anyone knows if it is available for less than $90 please let me know.  I was only able to find it on the Close to My Heart website for that amount.  Anyway, instead of using a 3D flower image, I made my own using Accent Essentials.  There is a fun flower cut, it's Accent26S on the cart, that I thought could work as a 3D flower.  I cut multiple cuts at different sizes to layer, alternating the petals then rolling them up a bit after I fastened them with brads.  They turned out pretty well I think.  The base card is cut from Life's a Party, the circles and smaller scallop are cut from Mini Monograms.  I inked around the edges with none other than Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress ink and popped the sentiment up.  I really like how this turned out, I love when what you are working on just kind of comes together so nicely.  Hope you enjoy!
