Cricut, Pink Journey, Breast Cancer Awareness

It is Breast Cancer Awareness time!  Time and time again, I am shocked and amazed at how many people I know get diagnosed with cancer - any form, really.  My husband is a cancer survivor, he was diagnosed June 2012 and went through a year of hell, for lack of a better term.  But he made it!  And so many others I know fight and survive.  My mom just told me of a friend of hers that was just diagnosed with breast cancer, has had a double mastectomy and will start chemo in a week or so.  She asked me to make her some cards to pass on to her friend throughout this next little while for some encouragement and to make sure she knows she has a support system.

So for my project I used the Cricut Pink Journey Cartridge and made some "pass-along" cards.  They are just a 3" x 4" one-sided card.  All the cuts are from this one cartridge, my papers are from My Mind's Eye and Basic Grey and then I embellished them with We R Memory Keeper's Baker's Twine, Recollection's Flat Back Pearls, and Prima Flowers.  My mom thought they were perfect, so I am happy with that!  I had my first mammogram this summer and I would encourage any of you, if you are over 35 to get one too!  You can never be too safe, and you just never know - one day you could be celebrating your birthday, the next day you are admitted in the hospital undergoing chemo.

I hope that you will join us over at Cut It Up Challenges for this special challenge, and your card doesn't specifically need to be about breast cancer, we just want you to incorporate pink in your project!

I am also going to be entering these in over at CardzTV and Link Up for Pink.
